Hastelloy is the collection of corrosion-resistant alloys. C22, C4, and C276 grades belong to the same Hastelloy family and are identified as the premium alloy steel brand in the markets. Although the corrosion resistance of Hastelloy C22 nuts is leaded compared to the corrosion resistance of C276 grade nuts. The highest proportion of chromium in C22 grade provides flexible corrosion resistance at room temperature and in oxidizing conditions. Hastelloy C4 is also a nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy that offers good corrosion resistance even under chemical environments such as hydrochloric acids, sulfuric acids, and chlorides. Hastelloy C4 nut is stabilized grade, which is often identified to be used in aggressive corrosion media. The stability in this condition represents that the material quality can be welded without the concern of sensitization. The properties of Hastelloy grade nuts are they are malleable, easy to form, and possess excellent resistance from corrosion like other nickel alloys. The high content of both molybdenum and chromium in similar composition into Hastelloy C4/c22/C276 grade can help the grades to withstand high temperature and non-oxidizing acids. These Hastelloy grade nuts find various applications where corrosion resistance is highly needed.
